Sometimes a court order may state “[[Seven Counties of Southern California]] or “[[Southern California]].” This includes the counties of Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura County. It is better to list the specific counties. Additionally, considering the size of the seven counties, you might as well either include Santa Barbara and Kern to have a clear geographical boundary for travel or limit travel to all of California. Listing 9 counties instead of 7 can help line up the northern border of San Bernardino County with the counties of Santa Barbara and Kern. Although it makes more sense to say “[[Nine Counties of Southern California]],” I have not personally seen it in a family court order.
