A Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO) is a court order that aims to protect someone who has been or may be subjected to [[domestic violence]]. The order can prohibit the abuser from contacting or coming near the victim, and may also require the abuser to move out of their shared home. In California family law, DVROs can be obtained by spouses, partners, family members, and other individuals who have been subjected to [[Domestic Abuse]].
